How to Set Up Twilio for SMS and Calls
How to Set Up Twilio for SMS and Calls
Connect Twilio to send SMS messages, make calls from candidate profiles, forward incoming calls, and capture voicemail in 100Hires.
Prerequisites
You need a Twilio account with SMS-enabled and voice-enabled phone numbers. For SMS to US phone numbers, complete A2P 10DLC registration in Twilio. US carrier approval is controlled by Twilio and carriers; 100Hires cannot bypass it.
Connect Twilio in 100Hires
- Open Settings > Integrations.
- Find the Twilio section.
- Enter your Account SID and Auth Token from Twilio.
- Add your Twilio phone number.
- Save.

Send SMS from a candidate profile
- Open a candidate profile.
- Go to the Messages tab.
- Choose the SMS option.
- Write a message or use an SMS template.
- Send.

Use SMS in nurture campaigns
Add SMS steps to nurture campaigns when you want automated text-message follow-up. Keep messages short, relevant, and compliant with local consent requirements.

Make calls
From the candidate profile, use the call button or phone icon. Calls are placed through Twilio and can be logged on the candidate timeline when matched to the candidate.

Incoming call forwarding and voicemail
In the Twilio integration settings, you can configure forwarding to real phone numbers on your team. 100Hires rings the numbers in sequence using the timeout you choose. If nobody answers, voicemail can be captured and attached to the candidate context when the caller is matched by phone number.
Compliance notes
- Complete A2P 10DLC before sending SMS to US numbers.
- Follow local SMS consent and opt-out rules.
- Check call-recording consent laws before recording calls.
- Remove custom TwiML voice apps on the Twilio number if they prevent 100Hires forwarding or voicemail from activating.
