No Applicants? Read This First

"I posted a job but nothing is coming in." "Applications suddenly stopped." "My job is not showing on Indeed." "All my sources are locked."

These questions usually have the same handful of answers, and they are easy to tell apart once you know where to look. Work through the checks below in order. The first two are the quickest to rule out, so start there.

1. Are you on the free trial and already at 10 candidates?

The free trial allows 10 candidates for the whole account, across every job combined. After the job reaches 10 applicants, it automatically moves to draft and stops receiving new free-trial applications from the job boards. You keep the candidate records already received: you can review them, move them through stages, add notes, and decide whether 100Hires fits your process.

How to check: if you are on the free trial and a job has moved to Draft on its own, the trial limit is the likely reason.

How to fix: subscribe from Settings / Billing. After subscribing, open the job, set its status back to Public, and confirm the board toggles on the Find Candidates tab are on.

2. Are you on the Start plan and at 100 candidates for this billing period?

The Start plan allows 100 new candidates per monthly billing period. At 100, new applications are blocked: active jobs move to draft status and are removed from the job boards until the counter resets on your monthly anniversary date.

Two things surprise people here:

• The counter measures candidates added during the period, not candidates currently stored. Deleting or disqualifying candidates does not free up slots.
• Annual billing does not change this — the candidate counter still resets every month on the anniversary day.

3. Has your company cleared verification?

If your jobs are Public, the board toggles are on, and yet nothing has ever appeared on Indeed or LinkedIn, verification is the next thing to check.

Some boards, notably Indeed and LinkedIn, verify your company before the first post goes live. Until that check clears, your jobs are on your 100Hires career site only — they are not on the boards, so no board traffic can reach them. Free-trial accounts go through a verification queue that can take up to 72 hours; an active subscription clears the queue faster. Staffing agencies may need additional verification.

This check happens once per company, not for every job.

"Why do some job boards look locked in my settings?"

Wherever else a board appears in your settings, job board distribution is controlled per job, on the Find Candidates tab. That is where you switch each board on or off, and the toggles and status indicators there reflect the actual posting state. Check that tab first. If the toggles are on there and a board still shows nothing after the waits described below, contact support and we will look at the account.

4. Is the job actually Public?

Only Public jobs go to the job boards. Draft, Unlisted, Internal Use, Talent Pool and Archived jobs are not posted to them.

There is also no status that posts to the boards while staying off your career site — Public means both.

5. Has enough time passed?

Three separate waits stack up, and mixing them up is why a normal delay gets reported as a fault:

1. Company verification — once per company. Up to 72 hours on a free trial; an active subscription clears faster.
2. Submission from 100Hires — jobs are submitted to the boards on an hourly cycle, not the second you press save. Allow about an hour on an active paid plan.
3. Board-side processing — each board indexes on its own schedule, which 100Hires does not control. Indeed is usually the fastest, roughly an hour once your company is verified. LinkedIn is the slowest of the set, and edits to a live LinkedIn job can take up to 24 hours to appear.

In practice, on an active paid plan with a verified company, most jobs are live the same day. Allow a full 24 hours before treating a missing post as a problem.

6. Does the post itself meet the boards' rules?

100Hires submits your job, but each board runs its own quality review, and a job that looks fine here can still be rejected, hidden or ranked down by the board. Thin descriptions, a title carrying extra words instead of the plain role name, a location that is not where the work happens, and the same role posted across cities where it does not exist are all covered by their published policies.

7. Is your subscription paused?

A paused subscription takes your jobs offline for the length of the pause — that is how a pause is meant to work, not a fault. If a banner at the top of your account says the subscription is paused, resume it from Settings / Billing.

How to confirm what is really happening

Rather than judging by feel, check the numbers:

• Find Candidates tab on the job — the toggles and the status shown next to each board.
• Reports, Sources view — pick a custom date range to see how many candidates arrived from each source, which helps narrow down when a drop started. See Understanding Source Reports.
